Bracken Brae Farm is a small family-owned and operated farm in Mebane, North Carolina. Linda Sakiewicz and her husband Claude Hughes have had their farm for many years. They raise chickens for their eggs and grow herbs and vegetables without the use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Their chickens are raised on pasture where they eat bugs, grubs, worms and seeds, all of which help them produce eggs with intense yellow-orange yolks. Their chickens receive no antibiotics and no hormones and are free to wander the property, make dust holes and bask in the sun.
